Atralin gel enhances tretinoin's proven effectiveness

Miami - The formulation of Atralin Gel 5 percent acts to enhance the performance of the active ingredient,tretinoin, against the papules and pustules of acne, according to an expert.

- The formulation of Atralin Gel 5 percent acts to enhance the performance of the active ingredient,tretinoin, against the papules and pustules of acne, according to an expert.

In two 12-week studies, a total of 1,161 patients from 10 to 53 years old with mild to moderate acne vulgaris of the face were randomly assigned to receive Atralin Gel 5 percent or gel vehicle. Results from the first study showed total acne lesions decreased an average of 43 percent in those using Atralin compared to 22 percent in those using vehicle after 12 weeks, according to a Coria Laboratories press release.

In a second study, after 12 weeks of treatment total acne lesions decreased an average of 48 percent in those using Atralin, compared with 32 percent in those using vehicle gel.
