Crown Laboratories rebrands with ‘Skin Science for Life”

Author(s):

Crown Laboratories, long anchored by its Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen business, recently added the Vita Liberata beauty and Bellus Medical aesthetics divisions to their portfolios.

Crown Laboratories, long anchored by its Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen business, recently grew substantially adding the Vita Liberata beauty and Bellus Medical aesthetics divisions to the company’s consumer and prescription portfolios.

As a result, on May 22, Crown Laboratories announced new corporate branding with the tagline “Skin Science for Life.” The company aims to become a leader in dermatology, according to press information.

A day after the corporate branding announcement, Bellus Medical, a division of Crown Labs, announced its acquisition of Healeon Medical’s platelet-rich plasma (PRP) system. Bellus Medical will re-brand its PRP offerings as the ProGen PRP Advantage and ProGen PRP Versa - both high-yield systems for PRP procedures, according to a press release.

On May 21, Crown Laboratories announced it acquired Xycrobe Therapeutics, with technology focused on turning skin microbes into biotherapeutic delivery vehicles.

“Xycrobe technology addresses the needs of patients with inflammatory skin disease through the development of ‘good’ bacteria strains, designed to be used for therapeutic purposes,” according to a company press release. “Xycrobe has developed patent-pending ‘probiotic-like’ Xycrobes intended to replace pathogenic bacterial flora with microbes expressing skin-healthy biotherapeutics.”

And on May 1, Crown Laboratories announced that it acquired the North American rights for Keri moisturizers from GlaxoSmithKline.

The privately held global skincare company’s key products include the FDA-cleared medical grade microneedling device SkinPen. Its over-the-counter therapeutic skincare line includes Blue Lizard sunscreens, PanOxyl acne wash, Sarna anti-itch lotion, Zeasorb and Desenex anti-fungal powders and Vita Liberata sunless tanning products. The company’s portfolio of prescription products includes Triderm (triamcinolone acetonide cream).
