David Goldberg, MD, JD, Talks About the Upcoming South Beach Symposium

David Goldberg, MD, JD, shares some of the highlights that will be presented at this year's South Beach Symposium in Miami Beach, Florida.

Dermatology Times® Editorial Advisory Board member David Goldberg, MD, JD, is medical director of Skin Laser and Surgery Specialists of New York and New Jersey. He is also director of cosmetic dermatology and clinical research at Schweiger Dermatology Group in New York, New York, and clinical professor of dermatology and past director of Mohs Surgery and Laser Research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, New York.

This coming February, along with Michael Gold, MD, Goldberg will be chairing the 2023 South Beach Symposium conference, taking place February 9-12, 2023 in Miami Beach, Florida, the 21st year for this particular conference. Dr. Goldberg, who has been lecturing at the symposium for “at least 15 years,” as he noted, will be leading several dynamic sessions at this year’s meeting, including a cutaneous oncology symposium and sessions on what is coming in new energy-based devices for dermatology and new therapeutics, as well as one titled, “Complications and Legal Ramifications: A Call for Cases,” discussing the legal aspects of practicing dermatology. (Dr. Goldberg writes a monthly column, “Legal Eagle,” for Dermatology Times®, in which he shares various legal issues that can come up for dermatology practitioners, and how best to deal with them).

Other don’t-miss sessions at this conference will include Cosmetic Procedures and the Eyes; LGBTQ+ Patients and Aesthetics: Advances in Melanoma: Hedgehog Inhibitors for BCC; Novel Delivery Devices; Genetic Testing; What’s new in JAK Inhibitors Across Dermatologic Conditions; and The Great Debate: Psoriasis. Additionally there will be discussions on new biologics, vulva dermatoses, skin diseases and pregnancy, treatments of hyperpigmentation with lasers, and management of moderate-to-severe hidradenitis suppurativa. The conference agenda offers a mix of the latest treatments and news for both clinical and aesthetic dermatologic practices.

Here, Dr. Goldberg gives a sneak peek of what he will be discussing, and why this is a don’t-miss conference for dermatologic health care providers.
