Edge Systems, known for its patented HydraFacial and Perk skincare technologies, has changed its name to The Hydrafacial Company, according to a company press release.
Established in 1997, the Signal Hill, Calif.-based company has products in more than 75 countries. Healthcare-focused private equity firms Linden Capital Partners and DW Healthcare Partner jointly acquired Edge Systems in December 2016 with a vision to invest in the global expansion of the HydraFacial brand, according to the release.
Clint Carnell, chief executive officer of The HydraFacial Company, said in the release that near-term plans are to grow the HydraFacial brand, with patient awareness and physician support.
There’s also a “refreshed” look to the HydraFacial brand, according to Rosemarie Holcomb, director of marketing for The HydraFacial Company. The technology, Holcomb tells Dermatology Times, will remain consistent.
“Doctors should expect to have more patients walking through their doors asking for the treatments by name,” Holcomb says. “HydraFacial and Perk are the two brands currently under The HydraFacial Company umbrella. We plan to incorporate more award-winning technologies under The HydraFacial Company in the future.”
A priority is global consumer outreach, according to Holcomb.
“Our new brand language is concise and clear so potential new patients can understand the technology and importance of the results,” she says.
