Cheever shared with Dermatology Times her excitement for educational opportunities, networking, and presentations from experts in the specialty.
As the 5th Annual Elevate-Derm West Conference kicks off in Scottsdale, Arizona, dermatology APPs from across the country are preparing for 3 ½ days of education, networking, and discussion. One of those APPs, Eileen Cheever, MPAS, PA-C, spoke with Dermatology Times ahead of the meeting to share what she is most looking forward to at the informative and educational event.
Cheever herself will be hosting sessions titled, “AI in Dermatology” and “Elevate Your Expertise: A Review of Poster Presentations From Elevate-Derm West Conference 2024.” She began working with Elevate-Derm Conference in 2020 as a founding advisory board member and is currently the medical director for Elevate-Derm East PA NP Conference.

Cheever: My name is Eileen Cheever. I'm a dermatology PA out of Central Massachusetts. I practice at ClearView dermatology and I've been a dermatology PA since 2008. I see patients in a family dermatology practice settings - so all ages, all stages!
Dermatology Times: What are you most looking forward to at Elevate-Derm West?
Cheever: I'm really excited for this Elevate meeting here in the fall in Scottsdale. Looking forward to getting together with PAs and NPS in the dermatology space, really representing the majority of the states in the country.Getting us all together in 1 place and being able to connect and network is really one of the highlights of my year. Lot of great sessions that I'm looking forward to. I'm really interested in hearing about a lot of the different pigmented lesion pearls that both Dr. Gimbel and Dr. High will be sharing on a panel. Dr. High does also a great job of talking about subungual tumors, which can definitely be something that can be a little bit more difficult for us to assess, manage, and diagnose in the clinic.SoI'm really looking forward to that. We also have Dr. Chilukuri that's coming, I understand, and he is such a wonderful presenter. His focus is on cosmetics and how we can leverage those cosmetic things that are in our practice and really apply them as medical derm providers. He's always a wealth of knowledge and is always on the cutting edge of what's latest and greatest. He makes it clinically applicable to the majority of the folks that are in the audience who are medical derm providers, but really brings it home and ties it together as a cosmetic physician. We also have 4 APPs - physician assistants and nurse practitioners - that are going to be doing a professional development symposium. I think that's on Friday afternoon, and just to see some colleagues who have accomplished so much in their career, professionally, clinically, just to share their experiences, I'm really excited to sit in on that talk as well.
