Online service cuts office waits

An online service based in western Pennsylvania aims to get more patient cases in front of dermatologists faster.

Dermatologist Mark Seraly, M.D., and Pittsburgh investor Lawrence E. Eakin Jr., founded Iagnosis, which operates a service called Dermatologist on Call, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The service is based on software and services that Dr. Seraly developed and has used in his own practice for several years. Using a “store and forward” consultation method, patients can upload images at their convenience to be reviewed by one of seven dermatologists. Straightforward cases can see prescriptions within 72 hours, the Post-Gazette reports.
