Pointers With Dr Portela: Blue Light Risks and the RFLCT Skincare Controversy

In this week’s Pointers with Dr Portela, the 208SkinDoc explains the recent controversy involving blue light and its effect on the skin after a recent YouTube controversy.

Dustin Portela, DO, a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon at Treasure Valley Dermatology in Boise, Idaho, talks about the launch and take down of RFLCT Skincare, a much hyped skin care brand led by video gaming personality Valkyrae. After the launch, the company failed to publish studies supporting the claims that the light from computer screens and phone screens were harmful to the skin, he explains.
