Pointers With Dr Portela: What to Ask The Dermatologist at an Acne Visit

In this week’s Pointers with Dr Portela, the 208SkinDoc explains what to ask the dermatologist in an appointment to insure a productive and effective visit.

Dustin Portela, DO, a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon at Treasure Valley Dermatology in Boise, Idaho, speaks about what a patient should ask, and tell their dermatologist before leaving the office with a prescribed treatment.

He recommends a patient can see a board-certified dermatologist, but if that is not possible, a patient should check that the dermatology practice does have supervision of their physician assistants (PAs) or nurse practitioners (NPs). He explains his reasoning and his other tips in the video below.
