Students who have had acne may qualify for college scholarship funds of up to $12,000 per year from Valeant Dermatology, according to a news release.

The “Acanya I Can Succeed” scholarship program will provide a total of $48,000 or up to $12,000 to three selected recipients. Students who qualify are those who have had acne and have actively tried to address it.

Applicants must submit a video essay that demonstrates the impact acne has had on their lives, as well as the role their dermatologist, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner has played in helping to treat the condition. Applicants also must include two letters of recommendation and information about their school and community activities.

Applications can be found at www.acanyascholarship.com and are due April 30, 2013. Those selected to receive the scholarship will be notified by July 1, 2013.
