Behind the Scenes at Maui Derm Hawaii 2023

As the 2023 Maui Derm Hawaii Conference gets underway in Maui, George Martin, MD, FAANS, and founder of the conference, gives a preview of what to expect during the 5 day conference.

The editors of Dermatology Times® will be covering the conference live in person, reporting on numerous engaging sessions and conducting exclusive interviews throughout the week.

George Martin, MD: Hi, I'm George Martin. I'm the program director for Maui Derm on Maui. We have an aesthetic track for about a day and a half and really world-class aesthetic, both laser and injector, aesthetic faculty. But the overall content really covers core dermatology concepts; everything from what's new in the literature, to new drugs and new therapies, cutaneous oncology, pediatric dermatology, infectious diseases, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis. We will have panel discussions where we'll have several speakers addressing different aspects of disease state, and we do a lot of case-based discussion along the way, but we really take you from the research bench to bedside, in the scope of allowing you to come home Monday morning from the meeting with a whole bunch of new ideas and pearls to implement in your practice. We really tried to change practice habits in a very positive, forward-thinking direction by introducing new therapies and how best to use them; that's really our goal.
