Dermatology Times spoke with board-certified physician assistant, Sydney Givens, PA-C, on her session at the Fall Clinical Dermatology Conference for PAs and NPs, “What You Really Need to Know About Cosmeceuticals” in Orlando, Florida. The wide range of diseased states in psoriasis challenging clinicians was debriefed in a session titled “Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis” at the 2023 Maui Derm NP+PA Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado June 21-24. Melodie Young, MSN, ANP-c, an NP with Modern Dermatology in Dallas, Texas discussed the status of dermatology care today as it relates to evolving roles and new challenges.

Effects of Spesolimab on Hidradenitis Suppurativa Lesions Leads to Additional Research

To address the need for more targeted therapies to manage hidradenitis suppurativa, investigators studied the effects of spesolimab in those with moderate to severe HS in a Phase IIa proof-of-clinical-concept study.1 Findings were presented in a poster titled “Spesolimab for hidradenitis suppurativa: A proof-of-concept study,” at the Maui Derm NP+PA Summer 2023 Conference June 21-24, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
